Anglia Drain Doctor Recognised for its Support to the Armed Forces
We are delighted to announce that Anglia Drain Doctor has been presented with the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Award, in recognition of its continued support of military veterans.
Rob and Sam Simpson, directors of Anglia Drain Doctor, attended an exclusive ceremony at Emmanuel College, Cambridge on 14 November, where they were presented with the award by Air Commodore Paul O’Neill and H.M. Lord Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire, Mrs Julie Spence OBE.
The Silver award is given to companies that have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a pledge to offer fair and equal treatment to military personnel, veterans, reservists and their families. Anglia Drain Doctor signed the Covenant in November 2018, and was one of 19 East Anglian businesses to win the Silver award in 2019.
“As a company we have the utmost respect for our armed forces and are pleased to offer any support we can to those who have or continue to serve,” said Rob Simpson. “The recognition for our support is an added bonus and we are thrilled to have received the Silver Award. We have always looked favourably at recruiting ex-service personnel and they have been a great addition to our business, as well as being steadfast and hard working.”
Ex-military veteran Steve Jones, who is now a drainage engineer at Drain Doctor Anglia, said: “After leaving the army, I responded to an advertisement for a groundworker and was then offered full-time employment with Anglia Drain Doctor. I spent the first six months training with senior engineers, where we carried out remedial drain repairs, and then I was promoted to drainage engineer. I am hugely grateful to Rob for giving me this opportunity and to be able to provide for my family.”
Whether you’re a serving or former member of the armed forces, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Anglia Drain Doctor to find out about career opportunities in the plumbing and drainage industry.
