Waste Treatment Plant Installation
Wastewater is any water that has been contaminated by human use. As an example, wastewater in the UK typically includes water flushed from a toilet, from a sink, from a bath or shower, and any byproduct of water use in domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural environments. It is necessary and obligatory to treat wastewater to protect the environment against pollution. In the majority of cases this is not something you would need to think about as your drainage connects to the main public sewer system. In some cases however, it is not possible to connect properties to the main public sewer system so a solution to treating the water is needed. In these situations sewage water will low from your property directly into a septic tank, sewage treatment plant or cesspit that is installed outside your property.
Sewage Treatment Plant
A sewage treatment plant uses natural biological aerobic action to treat sewage where solids are retained and pumped out periodically, the water is then made around 97% pure. With permissions and licences, this can be discharged into a nearby watercourse or ditch.
Septic tanks work by sending the sewage directly from the property to the septic tank where the solids are broken down by bacterial action and must be removed periodically.
Unlike the two prior methods, a cesspit does not treat the sewage in anyway; instead, all the sewage is held in the tank. This results in a much more regular emptying procedure.
